The earlier dolls are very desirable. Renamed American Girl, the company was purchased by Mattel who created the limited edition Girls of the Year. Bitty Baby, born in 1995 and still delighting young collectors ever since. Wellie Wishers were released in June 2016 to complete the American Girl Doll collection.
